Frequently Asked Questions
The Community Hub is a shared space designed for humanitarian professionals to access mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) resources, connect with trusted providers, and learn from peers. Its goal is to promote equitable duty of care across organizations and contexts.
The Hub is intended for humanitarian staff, managers, duty of care focal points, and organizations working in humanitarian, development, and crisis settings. Some sections may be open to the public, while others are reserved for members of the community.
You will find curated tools, guidelines, training materials, research, and practical resources related to staff care and MHPSS. All resources are reviewed to ensure relevance, quality, and applicability to humanitarian contexts.
The directory helps you identify mental health and psychosocial support providers, both globally and by country. Providers can indicate whether their services are free, paid, or offered on a sliding scale, and whether they work online, in person, or both.
Access to some content is free. Certain features, such as community spaces or advanced tools, may require registration or membership, depending on your role and affiliation. Protect Humanitarians aims to keep access as inclusive as possible.
The Community Hub is built with strong security and privacy standards. Personal data is handled in compliance with GDPR, and only essential information is collected. You remain in control of your profile and what you choose to share.
The Community Hub includes a built-in ticketing system that allows you to contact the Protect Humanitarians team directly. You can use it to ask questions, share feedback, report an issue, or suggest improvements. Each request is tracked to ensure timely and appropriate follow-up.
The mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) practitioners listed on this platform have been vetted in accordance with Protect Humanitarians’ selection criteria. These criteria include appropriate professional qualifications, demonstrated experience in staff care within humanitarian contexts, current registration with a relevant professional body, where relevant (registration numbers available upon request), engagement in ongoing clinical supervision, willingness to work with vulnerable populations including LGBTQ+ individuals, and adherence to appropriate data protection standards.
All practitioners have also completed reference checks as part of the vetting process.
