General
Overview
This is a training guide produced by UNFPA Palestine (2025) in collaboration with UNFPA's gender-based violence team. It was created in response to the compounding humanitarian and psychological pressures facing frontline workers in Palestine since October 2023, particularly those in GBV response, sexual and reproductive health, youth programs, protection, and MHPSS (mental health and psychosocial support).
The guide consolidates self-care exercises and training activities originally delivered in live sessions for frontline humanitarian staff, now compiled into a single reference document. It's aimed at GBV workers, SRH providers, youth program staff, protection specialists, MHPSS workers, and health/humanitarian personnel more broadly.
It's built on IASC's intervention pyramid framework and minimum MHPSS standards, adapted to the Palestinian context. It's intended for use within structured supervision or training led by people with relevant professional background.
